Here at the Happy Berry, we pride ourselves on providing more than a place to pick delicious, and nutritious berries. We also want to contribute to healthier lifestyles and eating habits. And ultimately, our belief is that local farms, like ours and Greenbrier, provide an essential environmental service for the future of our planet.
To that end, we are co-sponsors of "Eat Your View", proceeds from which will benefit Carolina Farm Stewardship Association (CFSA).
We feel that CFSA serves a very important function supporting local, sustainable and organic agriculture. Their mission is to support and expand Local and Organic Agriculture in the Carolinas by inspiring, educating, and organizing farmers and consumers. The CFSA vision is of healthy and thriving communities of farmers and consumers in the Carolinas that are supported by agricultural systems that are environmentally responsible, economically viable and socially acceptable.
Some examples of CFSA projects include developing farm incubators where new aspiring farmers can build their experience and developing their market before they go out on their own; conducting educational programs for both new and experienced farmers and for consumers at an annual conference and through local chapter meetings; Seeking out heirloom varieties of seed, banking them and promoting production of the seed; Conducting on-farm bio diesel workshops; getting sustainable farming advocates in the legislative policy mix through emails, newsletters and educational events; producing a food guide to local farms; and conducting farm tours and promoting the local food system.
Your help by attending this dinner- serving all local food donated by area farmers, prepared by locally famous chefs donating their services and using all local volunteers to organize and serve the dinner- will raise money so CFSA is able to continue its successes for the benefit of farmers and consumers like you.
And while serving what we think is a greater good, this benefit will be a Delicious Delight for your Tastebuds! It will be a 6 course gourmet dinner and social.
